The Library has implemented twoservices to help with this:

1. Scanning

Patrons request articles online. Library staff scan them at the Library Annex and then email them to the requestor. We are aiming for same-day turnaround on articles we own. If the Library does not own a copy of the journal and has to request it from a different library, this usually takes about 5-10 days.

2. TCU Library Courier Service

The Libraryhas a courier service to and from the Library Annex twice a day on Sunday through Thursday, and once on Friday.  Patrons requesting itemsreceive electronic notification when items arrive at the Mary Couts Burnett Library. Depending upon when a request is made and the current volume of requests, the library strives for a 24 hour turn-around time. An exception is that requests made on Friday will not get filled until Sunday. While this is our initial model, this is a new service and we will make adjustments as we determine use patterns.
