What are the Fab Lab usage policies?
Answer
Class projects: Sending your students to the FabLab to complete a project?
Please give 2-3 weeks advanced notice from the start of the project so we can ensure adequate materials are in place for your students to complete projects in a timely manner. Please contact Innovation Collaborator, Christine Drake-Thomas at LIBFabLab@tcu.edu with details of the class size, the project’s rubric, and the due date.
To set up a class visit, the FabLab machines can be reserved via LIBFabLab@tcu.edu for faculty to lead demonstrations for their classes to learn how to correctly operate the machine and successfully complete their projects.
For proper file formatting instruction please refer to “Equipment in the Lab”.
It is our hope, your students have a positive experience in the FabLab.
Please note: The TCU Library FabLab is a space for learning and hands-on experimentation. We offer assistance with learning how to properly and safely use our resources. We are not a production facility. Individuals using the TCU Library FabLab are responsible for the production of their own projects and files. We are happy to suggest helpful resources on software and file creation. We are here to help you learn and utilize our resources to successfully achieve your project goals.
